Why is the hotspot so slow? I test the speed using my iPad which was connected to my lg v60. I have the hotspot set to 5ghz and am on T-Mobile unlimited everything family plan for 5 for $120.

You’ve probably used up all of your allotted high speed hotspot data. They don’t have unlimited high speed data for hotspot. It ranges from 7GB to 20GB before it throttles down to unusable unlimited.

I hate to say you’re paying allot, did you take advantage of the free lines they offered? I’d check with them every once and awhile to see if they have promotions that aren’t mentioned, I pay $110 for 4 lines.

Try 2.4ghz, your not going to notice any difference at 5ghz over tethering and 5 is less stable and causes latency at times.

They have the two separate plans. The Magenta and Magenta Plus I think they’re called. The Plus gives you LTE Hotspot speeds, whereas the regular just gives 3G speeds.

On-device data is always prioritized over hotspot.

Restart the device and try it again? Ive had my hotspot glitch a few times and give me speeds like that till i turned off the hotspot and back on.
