So I’m not sure why, but damn. The fingerprint scanner on the S20+ is shit! I’ve had it almost a year and it’s been shit the entire time. I don’t know if it’s just me or what. But I have the same finger added 4 times. It will work perfectly fine for a couple days, then nope. Won’t work at all. It will keep saying “fingerprint not recognized” or whatever it says. I had this issue a little bit on the S10+ but it seems worse on the S20+. Does anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

Have you added your fingerprint while holding it how you would naturally? My girlfriend ran into this problem because she scanned her fingerprint straight up and down and when she would put her thumb on it at an angle while holding it it wouldn’t register it right. Just wondering.

Had mine since April 2020 had no issues with it, worked all the time, since Android 11 update it got faster tho.

It is quite a small sensor tho and I’ve built the muscle memory for it to work every time.
I only have my thumb added once also.

Try to run the scan for your fingerprint while you’re holding the phone how you would when you go to unlock it. That makes a big difference.

I know this won’t help but It’s also shit on my S21 Ultra (with a thin screen protector). I also have my finger registered multiple times but it still fails to recognize. I just use the pattern now.

Scan ur thumb on both hands in the same profile 4 times. It helps a ton

Guess what works reallllll good….FaceID!!!!!!ahahahah!!! They’ve also incorporated a mask feature that works in conjunction with Apple Watch to never have a problem. Boy do I remember the days when the people in this group called it dumb….

No issues on my s21 ultra. I just don’t like that it’s thicker, heavier and smaller than my NOTE 10+
