Is there an easy way to find out if a phone is unlocked based off of the imei number? Bought it used

I know this much: when booting up the phone it has the AT&T boot screen but when I use an imei checker online, it says Verizon.

Swap a different SIM from a different provider in it and see if it works.

There are a ton of resources online that can do a network lock check based on imei. sOmetimes you can enter a short code or go into engineering mode to check the status. You would have to Google it for that phone. There are some play store apps that work to check the status too.
